Kip was born in Launceston, 1955. He grew up with his brother, three sisters, parents and
grandmother on the North-West coast of Tasmania. Entirely self- taught, he has evolved as a truly talented artistic photographer living within Tasmania. The ability to predict light and cloud formations is a prominent subject throughout his work giving it a magical edge. Having lived at Marrawah for twenty years he has surfed , fished and explored the Tarkine gaining an
understanding of how rough and wild it is but also how fragile, especially when modern man is introduced.

Kip’s enthusiasm, patience, skilful compositions and artistic ability to capture mood, light, atmosphere and a ‘sense of place’ will captivate those who view his work. Many of his images have been used in environmental conservation campaigns.
